OnePlus Nord SE: the brand changes its design, but remains on the same technical sheet

The OnePlus Nord SE would actually be a simple special edition of the standard Nord with a new design. The technical sheet would be strictly identical.

The OnePlus Nord range should expand in 2021. After the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, of which you can read our test, and the OnePlus Nord N100, which is expected to be released next with a 90 Hz screen, the brand must repeat with a OnePlus Nord SE in 2021. A leak picked up by Android Authority gives us some of the most reliable information to date on this smartphone.

It was initially thought that this version would be a Improved variation of the first OnePlus Nord, with a bigger battery, and faster, faster charging. But thanks to this leak, taken up by our colleagues from Android Authority, everything seems to indicate that the OnePlus North SE will not have much to put in our mouths. At least from the point of view of its technical sheet.

The OnePlus Nord SE looks like a somewhat bland Special Edition of the Classic North

It seems indeed that The OnePlus Nord SE will offer a technical sheet strictly identical to that of the classic OnePlus Nord. We should thus find a Snapdragon 765G, a 6.4 ″ AMOLED screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate. As well as a quadruple photo sensor on the back like its predecessor.

Nothing is confirmed or invalidated on the battery and fast charging side. But this new info throws a cold on what we thought so far and describes a smartphone that will be a kind of special (cheaper?) Variation of the initial OnePlus North. A bit like Apple does with its iPhone SE. In fact, the only thing that should differentiate it from the OnePlus Nord is its design.

The, OnePlus would opt for an original choice : the constructor would join forces with artist Joshua Vides to design the design of the smartphone. The brand had already done this in the past with the OnePlus 5 JCC + designed in partnership with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. The design change was then less radical than one might have imagined. This was mainly due to a few designs on the box and a special color with tangy colored accents on the buttons.

As well as a textured back with text written by the artist, as in the marker. The release of the OnePlus Nord SE is expected in March 2021, at the same time as the OnePlus 9.
