OnePlus has just released a new version of OxygenOS for its OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Update 11.3.3 brings several fixes, including some bugs on the Gallery app and the alarm. In addition, a new functionality is also in the game.
The last OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro dates back to November 2020. With this patch, the manufacturer had boosted the autonomy of the two devices while correcting a plethora of bugs. This Friday, January 8, 2021, the Chinese company is releasing a new OxygenOS update for its two flagships.
Update 18.104.22.168 does not bring major changes, but still incorporates a new functionality. Indeed, OnePlus offers a new setting for adjust keyboard height. This allows you to raise or hide the bottom bar of shortcuts for a “better typing experience ”. To take advantage of it, just go to the Settings> System> Language & input> Keyboard height adjustment.
Alarm bugs and the Gallery app finally fixed
The rest of the update is dedicated to fixed minor bugs :
- Fixed an alarm bug, which was not triggered or abnormally for some users
- Fixed a bug that could prevent the screen from automatically rotating
- Fixed a low probability of not seeing all photos in the Gallery app
- Fixed a bug preventing the appearance of the pop-up window when connecting Bluetooth with headphones and earbuds
- Fixed bug causing Wi-Fi connection to fail in certain situations
As usual, this update will be rolled out gradually, and you may not be able to access it immediately. As a reminder, OnePlus revealed at the beginning of the year 2021 the list of smartphones that will benefit from OxygenOS 11. Unsurprisingly, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are obviously part of the list just like the recent OnePlus North, North 10 and North 10.
According to the manufacturer, its new overlay will be based on Android 11 and promises “to be faster, smoother and smarter than ever, with new features designed to make one-handed operation easier and more intuitive ”. Note that it is possible to download the beta of OxygenOS 11 on the OnePlus 8 Series.
