OnePlus 6: the first benchmarks appear

With its new flagship OnePlus 6 officially announced on May 16 and available in preview from May 21 in Paris, OnePlus wants to continue to shake up the market leaders with the iPhone X, Galaxy S9 and other Huawei P20 Pro in mind. It will of course be provided with a solid technical sheet according to the various non-official information circulating.

As a reminder, the OnePlus 6 would be equipped with a large 6.28 "AMOLED screen edge to edge in 18: 9 Full HD format + 2280 x 1080 pixels, with a notch located on the top in order to position the speaker, camera and Various sensors. It would also have a Snapdragon 845 SoC associated with 6 to 8 GB of RAM depending on the versions and 128 GB to 256 GB of storage, a 3300 MAh battery, all of it running Android 8.1 Oreo. at the rear is a dual 20 + 16 MP photo sensor with an f / 1.7 aperture, and at the front a 16 MP sensor at f / 2.0.

Today a first benchmark has been unveiled showing the full power of the Snapdragon 845 processor with impressive scores, of course leaving far behind the OnePlus 5T, but also for example the very recent Galaxy S9 +! Note that this is a version with 8 GB of RAM, which confirms the existence of two configurations, probably the most high-end version combining 8 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage.

GSMArena compared these performances to other smartphones (see below), and we observe that the OnePlus 6 is well located at the top of the ranking, however slightly ahead of the very recent Mi Mix 2S from Xiaomi which has the same processor (which we will also test this week).

More than a few days to wait before the formalization of the characteristics but if the price remains contained, there is no doubt that the struggle will be tough between the OnePlus 6 and the Mi Mix 2S to become the best quality vs price ratio of the moment.
