Samsung announced the arrival of an exciting new feature at its Unpacked event: “Object Eraser”. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the Galaxy S21 will be able to erase objects and people from the background of photos. The option should also be available on the company’s other models with the deployment of One UI 3.0.

In addition to the presentation of the three Galaxy S21s, the 2021 edition of the Unpacked event allowed Samsung to announce new features of One UI 3.0. Among them, we find in particular the very interesting possibility of sinstantly remove an object or person of the background of a photo. From the sweet name of “Object Eraser” (literally “object eraser”), this feature is available in Samsung’s photo gallery.
To use it, nothing could be simpler: once the photo has been taken, the Object Eraser button will be available. By clicking on it, the application asks which objects should be removed. It is possible to select multiple items as well as to go back in case of error. All you have to do is press the “delete” button to see the objects in question disappear and be replaced by the decor.

Samsung did not specify what kind of items can be removed from photos, but the presentation made at the Unpacked event is rather convincing. If the functionality is also effective, it is a real technological prowess from the Korean firm.
