Very popular with the general public for its perfect compromise between comfort and portability, the segment of 13-inch computers is very disputed. To the point where Sony got left behind in a niche in which it excelled. This new S series is therefore all about seduction. With only 1.7 kilos on the scale, this new chassis is refined and displays a new design much more rectangular than before. In terms of comfort, its keyboard with spaced and backlit keys clearly eyeing the side of the MacBook Pro. But this new S series is much more complete with an HDMI output, three USB ports, one of which in version 3.0, an SD card reader and Memory Stick.

In terms of technical characteristics, Sony has opted for an Intel Core i5 platform equipped by default with 500 GB of hard drive and 4 GB of RAM. Sony keeps its hybrid graphics system allowing to switch between default management and the ATI card. The range is currently available in four models. The basic one with the configuration described below at 999 euros. A version with 3G + module integrated at 1,199 euros. Another on-board Blu-ray player and 6 GB of RAM at 1,499. And finally a very high-end with SSD of 128 GB, Core i7 processor and 8 GB of RAM at 1,999 euros.

Sony also offers with this new series a quick boot system called Quick Boot which allows it to be limited to 40 seconds in hard drive version and 30 seconds in SSD version. In terms of autonomy, Sony announces 7h in basic version and 14h with an additional battery.
