Huawei's Mate X stands out from Samsung's initiative with its foldable screen outwards: once folded, the smartphone proudly displays its screen on almost its entire front and back surface.
And these foldable screens have a particularity: they are not protected by a glass slab and are therefore much more fragile than standard screens … It is therefore natural to ask the question of the damage that could occur, especially in the case Mate X whose screen is fully exposed at all times, the model losing interest in being confined in a hull.
Huawei provides an answer by publishing a list of components and prices for the Mate X, and that is to say that it would be better not to have a problem with the screen.
Remember in passing that the Mate X is billed 2300 euros.
A screen replacement will be billed a little more than 900 euros in China, 35 € for a 4500 mAh battery, 460 euros for the motherboard, 47 € for the back cover and 90 € for the 40 MP photo sensor.
These prices are to be considered out of warranty. Samsung has associated a one-year warranty to its Galaxy Fold with a € 149 deductible for the first screen replacement, which is not the case for Huawei.
