Mitsubishi continues to integrate CarPlay to his vehicles. The Japanese manufacturer announced Wednesday the arrival of Apple’s embedded system for the series Outlander of 2018. The crossover will therefore support CarPlay from Apple, but also Android Auto from Google.
The two on-board systems will be supported by an interface with a 7-inch screen located on the dashboard. The vehicle will also have a new optional Touring package with various improvements, including driver assistance technologies. However, it has not been specified whether CarPlay will benefit from new features such as a larger touch screen.
Mitsubishi did not provide much information in its announcement. The automaker probably prefers to keep them for the New York International Motor Show scheduled for next week. The new 2018 Outlander will be presented during the event.
The first cars of the brand to integrate CarPlay were the Mirage and Pajero of 2016. In competition, Subaru also confirms its Crosstrek of 2018. The on-board system of the brand with the apple seems to meet a great success in the land of the rising sun. Indeed, most Asian manufacturers, including Honda, Nissan and Suzuki, are now in favor of the Apple platform. Toyota remains the only one to refuse CarPlay.
