The cinema adoption of Metal Gear Solid is still on the cards for Sony. In production since 2012, the film would star Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron in Star Wars) as Solid Snake. The actor had already publicly mentioned his wish to participate in Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ feature film.
According to information collected by Deadline, Oscar Isaac was chosen to play Solid Snake in the movie Metal Gear Solid. Announced by Sony in the early 2000s, the feature film is entered production in 2012. In recent years, information on the project has become scarce, so much so that many fans fear that Sony has decided to cancel the film. But it is far from being the case.
The 41-year-old Oscar Isaac first gained recognition for playing Poe Dameron, the resistance pilot, in Disney’s latest Star Wars trilogy. Used to adaptations, the Guatemalan actor has also played Apocalypse, the nemesis of the X-Men in X-Men: Apocalypse. Oscar Isaac never made a big secret of his desire to play Solid Snake. “Metal Gear Sold, that’s it. I want to do that” Oscar Isaac also said in an interview with IGN in 2019.
