The annual conference of Apple on the occasion to discover the new products of the brand, but also the software updates.
If it is customary to discover the new hardware from Apple, the keynote is also an opportunity for the brand to present updates to its various operating systems. The iPhone and iPad will soon be able to install the new iOS update, with version 12. But they are not the only ones. Indeed, Apple smartwatches will also soon be upgraded with WatchOS 5. And finally, Macs.
The company has confirmed the next and major update of its operating system for Apple computers: MacOS Mojave. This update had already been presented at the beginning of the year, during the annual conference of the company's developers. A first public beta version was put online last June. Today, after the keynote, we finally learn the official release date of this new version. The date is thus fixed for September 24.
As a reminder, this update brings new features to Macs, including a dark mode, improved file organization options, automatic desktop storage, a revamped Mac App Store and an improvement to native applications.
Note also that this new MacOS should add new security controls to computers. Owners will thus be able to better control the authorizations that applications have on the system. Best of all, Apple will also allow users to natively block social media tracking, such as Facebook, when browsing Safari.
See you on September 24 to install the new macOS on compatible devices.
