Apple is preparing to make a major update to its range of MacBook Pro, which is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of this year. The update would take into account a finer design and a new touch bar OLED located above the keyboard. Now, a set of photos posted on the web claims to show the new MacBook Pro chassis and where the OLED touchbar will be located.
The images, obtained by Cult of Mac, show the keyboard chassis with a missing top row, which is assumed to be where the OLED touchbar will be located. The images suggest that the screen will not be extended to the hinge, as some thought, but the OLED bar will simply replace the existing top row of keys.
In addition, the images show four USB-C ports and a headphone jack as the only physical connections on the MacBook Pro. This suggests that the SD card slot and the MagSafe connector will be removed this year in favor of USB-C.
Finally, it seems that Apple has repositioned the speakers on each side of the keyboard, even on the 13-inch model. Obviously, these photos are to be taken with the usual grain of salt.
