Last night, Apple has made available the new major version of its operating system dedicated to Macs: macOS High Sierra 10.13. As for iOS 11, the update arrives after many beta versions reserved for developers. Find the download link at the end of the article.
As a reminder, the Macs on which macOS High Sierra can be installed are the same as those compatible with macOS Sierra 10.12. These are MacBook from the end of 2009, MacBook Air from 2010, MacBook Pro from 2010, Mac Pro from 2010, Mac Mini from 2010 and iMac from end 2009. The least that we can say is that the planned obsolescence is much slower on Apple computers than on the brand’s smartphones.
Regarding the new features offered by macOS High Sierra, there is the possibility of classifying, modifying and viewing photos more easily in Photos, an improvement of the browsing experience with Safari, improvements in Mail and Notes, related information in flight in Spotlight, a new more natural voice and musical suggestions for Siri, a new Apple File System, a new standard for 4K videos (HEVC) or even improved graphics with Metal 2.
MacOS High Sierra 10.13 can be downloaded now from the Mac App Store. Make sure you have at least 4.8 GB of free space to install it. For information, the update has the build number 17A365.
