Lycamobile arrived in France on July 1. Already present in a dozen countries, this virtual mobile operator does not offer subscriptions, but prepaid recharges.
These prepaid formulas are characterized by cards of 5, 10, 20 and 30 euros. The telephone minute is billed 1.2 euro cents, or three times less than the average on the French market. The same goes for the price of the SMS. Fixed at 9 cents at Lycamobile, it is generally at 10 cents with other operators.
On the national territory, Lycamobile goes through the Bouygues Telecom networks with which it has concluded an agreement for a position of full MVNO. This feature allows it to connect its own equipment to the host network. He can thus have access to the network management database. L’Expansion adds that by accepting a “full MVNO”, Bouygues Telecom is saving a good place for obtaining a 4G license. With France, Lycamobile is also entering four other countries. With 6.5 million customers today, he hopes to pass the 7 million mark before the end of the year.
