LG has just lifted the veil and brought some additional information regarding its Lifeband Touch fitness tracker, anticipating its press conference to be held this Monday on the occasion of CES 2014 in Las Vegas.
Details on LG’s fitness gadget are still scarce, but the manufacturer has confirmed on its blog in South Korea that the Lifeband Touch will be waterproof, and that it will be able to report data such as the consumption of calories, number of steps taken, and more.
In addition, it can be connected to iOS and Android devices via Bluetooth 4.0, which should offer a good alternative to the Nike Fuelband (read: Nike: FuelBand SE released on November 6).
An OLED touchscreen is located on the tracker, which allows users to check their phone notifications, accept incoming calls, and control music. The screen section also appears to be detachable from the rest – probably to load it – even though LG hasn’t confirmed this fact yet. The colored ring also suggests that the Lifeband Touch can display notifications from your phone while changing colors depending on the nature of the alert.
LG has not yet given a launch date or price, but that should be done during its press release scheduled for 5 p.m. French time.
