Lenovo ThinkPad X220: 24 hours of battery life

Image 1: Lenovo ThinkPad X220: 24 hours of battery lifeLenovo has just announced its ThinkPad X220 in Notebook and Tablet versions (rotating screen). They have the distinction of having an autonomy of 15 hours with a standard 9-cell battery and 24 hours with the addition of the external pack.

An interesting configuration

These machines are based on Sandy Bridges and have a 12.5 inch diagonal IPS screen which is covered with the famous Corning Gorilla glass. They therefore offer significant performance and resistance. They have optional USB 3.0 ports and the Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 suite which is said to optimize the system. Depending on the configuration, the laptop remains below a kilo and a half or a little less than two kilos with the external battery.

Our colleagues from ZDnet published a quick article on this laptop. The tone is positive. They praise the laptop for its finish, attention to detail and the keyboard. The tablet version is a little more expensive since it starts at $ 1,199, compared to $ 899 for the classic model. Lenovo currently only sells them on the Internet.

The war of numbers

Obviously, one of the main selling points seems to be the autonomy and if Lenovo is not the first to advance a duration of 24 hours, its product seems more realistic than the last laptop from HP which speaks of 32 hours under very specific conditions.
