KeenLab, a team specializing in security research, recently shared a publication on Twitter announcing that it had successfully iOS 12.1 jailbreak of the’iPhone XS Max. As a reminder, the group was notably the first to jailbreak theiPhone X under iOS 11.
It was Liang Chen, a member of the team, who posted the photo on Twitter indicating that he found a flaw in iOS 12.1 and in the A12 processor that equips the iPhone XS Max. This means that jailbreak is probably possible on the iPhone XS and XR.
” iOS 12.1 + A12 == the end of the iOS war? I will be presenting at POC 2018 this Friday with the latest iPhone XS Max which has been jailbroken Linag Chen said in a tweet. The POC 2018 hackers conference took place on November 8 and 9 in Seoul, South Korea. However, he did not specify whether he will offer the jailbreak for download to users.
Despite the demonstration below, KeenLab did not disclose a great deal of information. It is therefore not known whether it is a tethered, untethered or semi-tethered jailbreak. Given the past history of the KeenLab team, it is unlikely that it will publicly present the method and the security flaws used to develop this jailbreak of iOS 12.1…
