Jony Ive’s departure: Tim Cook judges the Wall Street Journal article “absurd”

Clearly, the departure of the Jony Ive framework is more controversial than expected. While the iPhone designer has announced that he will leave the apple business in the coming months, the Wall Street Journal recently published an article in which Jony Ive seems to settle his scores with Tim Cook, Apple CEO. He would accuse him in particular of not being sufficiently involved in the conception and design of Apple products, to the point of seeming to discover after each keynote the products presented during the conference. Jony Ive would have said that he was “disappointed” in the face of Tim Cook’s lack of interest.

Obviously, the article hurt the CEO, since he insisted on having a right of reply by sending an email to NBC News, in which he wrote:

“This article is absurd. Much, including the conclusions, simply does not correspond to reality. This shows a lack of understanding of how the design team works and how Apple works. The article distorts relationships, decisions and events to the point that we no longer recognize the business it claims to describe. The design team is extremely talented. As Jony said, she is stronger than ever and I am sure she will thrive under the leadership of Jeff, Evans and Alan. We know the truth and we know the incredible things it can do. The projects she works on will blow you away. ”

The answer has the merit of being clear, even if the CEO does not deny anything of Jony Ive…
