The two big names in car manufacturing, Jeep and Porsche, have announced the development of new vehicles integrating CarPlay. As a reminder, this is an on-board version of iOS for vehicles, which offers many features such as GPS, calls, SMS, music or even Siri directly from the dashboard.
This year, the American Jeep will release the Compass, a compact SUV, integrating both CarPlay and Android Auto on 7 and 8.4 inch screens respectively. The two on-board operating systems will be based on the Uconnect interface.
Porsche, meanwhile, will launch the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid model next year. The vehicle will only be equipped with CarPlay which can be used via a large 12.3 inch touch screen. Via the Porsche Connect app, the new Panamera range will also be able to support the iPhone and Apple Watch.
For the time being, none of the manufacturers has communicated a precise release date for these models. Expected for this year, the Compass is still the subject of many mysteries, including its price which remains unknown. The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, meanwhile, should land on the market at a price of $ 184,400. A version at 194,800 dollars with more options is even already announced.
