Hard blow to the scene jailbreak. The hacker Winocm, announced Friday that he will join Apple later this year. The details of his position with the Cupertino firm have not been revealed, but it is a safe bet that the man will no longer work on future jailbreaks.
Winocm made its announcement on Twitter, simply stating: “I thought now is a good time to say it, I will be working at Apple later this year.”
Winocm, along with iH8sn0w and SquiffyPwn, are known for their work on the untethered jailbreak of iOS 6.1.3 to 6.1.5 using the P0sixspwn tool. The 6.1.5 jailbreak was widely criticized when it was made public since the exploit revealed would have made it easier to unplug future versions of iOS.
