Every year, TechInsights dismantle the new iPhone presented by Apple in order to estimate their cost of production. This year, the site analyzed the largest iPhone, namely theiPhone XS Max, to know the total cost of its components.
From the analysis, we learn that the iPhone XS Max costs $ 443 to make. To produce this smartphone, the apple brand uses an OLED screen at 80.50 dollars, an A12 Bionic SoC at 72 dollars, internal storage at 64.50 dollars, a dual photo sensor at 44 dollars and a battery of 3,174 mAh at 9 dollars.
On some components, TechInsights specifies that the American firm has been able to save money. These include the components necessary for the 3D Touch. As for the iPhone X, it only cost $ 357.50 to design. The increase in the production cost of the iPhone XS Max is mainly due to the price of the OLED panel.
Finally, we recall that the estimate made by TechInsights is to be put into perspective. It is therefore impossible to deduct the net margin of the Californian firm. In addition, you have to take into account the costs related to marketing, communication, or research and development.
