Apple promises its customers an increased speed of Face ID on theiPhone XS and iPhone XS Max thanks to the chip A12 Bionic which equips the latest iPhone. Besides, Apple has specified on its site that ” the improved Secure Enclave and the new algorithms, Face ID is gaining speed again. You loved him. You will love it ” Is this a simple marketing speech or a reality?
As a reminder, the American firm has not modified the hardware of the True Depth system which allows you to unlock the smartphone thanks to 3D face recognition. The company simply revised the recognition algorithm.
iClarified has just published the video of a comparison test between the iPhone X (the first iPhone to adopt Face ID), the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max. In the speed test, iPhone XS Max takes first place with a time of 0.639 seconds, followed by the iPhone XS with 0.650 seconds and the iPhone X at 0.661 seconds. The difference is therefore too small for a user to feel it.
Note that the 3 smartphones have been restored to iOS 12. With future updates to iOS, the Apple may further improve the speed of Face ID facial recognition of both iPhone XS and XS Max.
