IPhone sales have been declining for months now and this has made Huawei again the second largest seller of smartphones in the world.
Huawei sold IDC data 59.1 million smartphones in Q1 2019, against 39.3 million copies sold in the same period a year ago; which represents an increase of 50.3% (for a market share which increased from 11.8% to 19% from 2018 to 2019).
For its part, Apple was able to sell 36.4 million iPhones during the first three months of 2019, in comparison with 52.2 million copies in the same period last year; a decrease of 30.2% (with a market share of 11.7% in 2019 and 15.7% in 2018).
Samsung remains the leading seller of smartphones with 71.9 million smartphones in the first three months of 2019, against 78.2 million copies sold in 2018 at the same period. Samsung’s market share increased from 23.5% (in 2018) to 23.1% in 2019; is a decrease of 8.1%.
Basically, 310.8 million smartphones were sold for the first three months of 2019, against 332.7 million for Q1 2018; a decrease of 6.6%.
