According to Gartner, Apple would have experienced its biggest Christmas sales decline in three years.
The company would not have sold than 64 million iPhones during the fourth quarter 2018. Sales are however expected to be high during this period. In comparison, these are 73 million iPhones that were sold at the same time in 2017.
Apple stays second on the smartphone market, behind Samsung. The previous figures confirming a downward trend regarding the sale of iPhone.
This is explained by the tough competition from other smartphone manufacturers. Huawei would have sold 60 million of its products still in the fourth quarter of 2018. A clear increase over its previous year, when it announced 44 million sales.
According to research director, Anshul Gupta, demand for entry-level and mid-range smartphones remains strong. Demand for high-end phones continues to slow, however. The users would no longer want to change their “luxury” smartphone due to lack of proposed innovations and to the price increase of new models.
