If we especially know Intel for the production of processors for computers, the company could produce more and more for smartphones. The American firm has just signed a license agreement allowing it to manufacture ARM chips for phones. A license that could open the way to numerous production contracts with mobile manufacturers. Among them, Apple may well be in the front row if we are to believe the recent information released by Nikkei.
It is indeed very likely that the firm with the apple entrusts to Intel the production of its processor AT 12 for iPhone’s 2018. This is mainly due to the fact that the company has the capacities and technologies necessary to design high performance ARM processors. Besides, if we are to believe the various rumors about it, it already has a fairly considerable market share for the production of modems for the iPhone 7.
With today’s turn, it could therefore be that Intel is competing with TSMC and become Apple’s main supplier for the A12 processors of 2018. Of course, this is all guesswork at the moment and a lot could still happen until the release of the iPhone 8S / 9 in two years.
