For most manufacturers, the amount of RAM is used as a marketing argument to stand out from the competition. The higher the number, the faster the phone and the smoother OS. As a result, some brands go so far as to offer models with 6 GB of RAM. Apple see things differently for theiPhone 8.
The smoothness of the smartphone is not entirely based on a very high amount of RAM for the Cupertino company. The latter is considering other alternatives to guarantee the speed of its phones. Apple favors the optimization of its mobile operating system iOS, for example.
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have 2 and 3 GB of RAM respectively. The competition opts for a much higher RAM. There are 4 GB of RAM on several premium models, such as the Huawei P10, the Samsung Galaxy S8 or the Google Pixel. However, these phones are not faster than those of the apple brand.
When can we expect to see an iPhone with 4 GB of RAM released? Not before 2018, according to the site TrendForce. This year, Apple will therefore probably remain on 2 and 3 GB of RAM, even for its high-end phone, the iPhone 8.
