New renderings of theiPhone 8 have just appeared on the web. They would have been designed from a highly detailed CAD file of the chassis of the future flagship smartphone from Apple. The 3D renderings highlight a new orientation for the dual photo sensor and announce a return to glass, which confirms the arrival of wireless charging.
Several versions were created from the CAD file provided by a source deemed reliable by Engadget. They show what the design of the iPhone 8 could be from different angles. Following old rumors around wireless charging, the back of the device seems to have a cut-out area. This could be used to house a wireless charging coil. The back is also covered with glass, which allows it to have an elegant appearance and ensure the functioning of the wireless charging at the back.
The renderings also show us a vertical alignment of the double photo sensor on the back of the device. The same would be true for the flash and the microphone. Due to the dimensions of the iPhone 8, it is quite possible that the vertical arrangement of the camera may become a standard feature for other future iPhone versions.
Finally, the source of the report indicates that the screen sizes of the next generation of iPhone will be slightly increased. The iPhone 7S would go from 4.7 to 5 inches and the “Plus” version from 5.5 to 5.8 inches.
