To celebrate the 10 years of the iPhone, Apple will release a new range of phones. Three devices with OLED and LCD screens are expected. This year’s flagship modeliPhone 8 would be provided with a curved display essentially provided by Samsung, specialist in this format.
Apple’s next phone may look like the Edge version of the Galaxy S7, sources say. A rumor that the Japanese newspaper Nikkei nuance in its Wednesday edition. Indeed, the iPhone 8 would present a curved display, but the curves of it would however be less pronounced than those of the South Korean phone.
The curved format offers a larger display surface. The next iPhone 8 of the apple brand would also have a 5.2 inch panel. Compared to a conventional LCD screen, the color contrast is much sharper with OLED technology.
However, some analysts suggest that the iPhone 8 may ultimately have a flat screen. The design of a curved OLED panel is much more complex. Apple could thus encounter supply problems. While waiting to settle this detail, the Californian firm intends to keep the flat format first. For the time being, regarding the 2017 premium iPhone, only the transition to OLED remains a certainty.
