TrendForce recently released a report confirming most of the rumors regarding theiPhone 8, but containing some crisp details that should interest fans. We learn at first that the next Apple smartphone will have a screen OLED 5.8 inches which will not be curved due to performance issues.
As a reminder, the physical Home button should disappear to leave more space on the screen, thus allowing the phone to offer an overall size similar to that of the iPhone 7 (4.7 inches). In addition, the iPhone 8 would benefit from 3 GB RAM (like the iPhone 7 Plus), and would be available in two storage capacities: 64 GB and 256 GB. TrendForce indicates that the 3D detection functions will be used for facial recognition and augmented reality applications.
iPhone 8: a price higher than 1000 dollars?
The report confirms rumors that the iPhone 8 is more expensive than the current range, with a price that may exceed 1000 dollars. It is not known, however, whether the two variants will be sold for more than $ 1,000 or whether it will only be the 256 GB version. It seems likely that Apple will offer its 64 GB version at 999 dollars.
IPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus
At the same time, Apple would prepare a iPhone 7S of 4.7 inches and a iPhone 7S Plus of 5.5 inches, at more competitive prices. The high-end iPhone 8 would represent at least 40% of the units produced, despite its high price. The 7S models could have storage capacities of up to 256 GB.
The new range of iPhone should be officially launched in the fall. Apple to Unveil Future Major Version of iOS 11 Mobile Operating System at Annual Developer Conference (WWDC 2017), during a keynote scheduled for June 5.
