Last September, a report from China Times ensured that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), longtime partner ofApple which currently manufactures the A8 and A9 processors with Samsung, would fully manufacture the chip A10 of the’iPhone 7 (read: iPhone 7: the A10 chip produced by TSMC in March 2016?).
Recently, several Wall Street analysts have confirmed that TSMC will produce 100% of the processors intended for the next smartphone from the Cupertino company. For its part, Samsung would therefore not have been able to find an agreement with Apple regarding the A10 of the iPhone 7.
In addition, a report posted online by the site Barrons.com states that TSMC will use its own technology Integrated Fan-Out (InFO) to produce the A10 chips that will equip the iPhone 7 and 7 plus. Among other things, it will allow Apple to offer better performance in a smaller space. Ideal if the Californian brand wants to reduce the size of its phone!
