The date of official presentation of the long-awaited iPhone 7 approach and the main partners ofAppleare already preparing to launch their production. However, the apple company is said to have planned to change its strategy and is now looking for new suppliers who can offer it components at lower prices. This is what we believe a new report released by the site DigiTimes.
Indeed, Apple would now seek higher margins, and lowering the manufacturing cost of the iPhone 7 is obviously the best way to do this. Especially since the sales estimates for its future smartphones do not look very good, notably because of the lack of new features compared to the old models.
Of course, if these rumors prove to be correct, then the repercussions of this decision are important for the usual suppliers of Apple and more particularly for Foxconn, Pegatron and Largan Precision. The latter will now have to share their production share of the iPhone 7 with other companies.
Among those set out by DigiTimes, we find for example the Japanese company Kantatsu which would supply the Cupertino company part of the photo modules for the iPhone 7. Wistron would participate in the assembly and other Chinese and Taiwanese manufacturers would also in the race.
