According to new information shared on Weibo by Chinese analyst Sun Chang Xu (ESM), Apple might intend to use electronic image stabilization in place of optical image stabilization in its Iphone 6.
Xu suggests that the iPhone 6 camera will also have larger pixels of 1.75 µm compared to 1.5 µm for the iPhone 5s. This would result in better image quality since more light would be taken into account.
While previous reports have indicated that Apple is looking to integrate optical image stabilization into the iPhone 6, adding an electronic image stabilization system would allow the device to have a thinner camera which does not protrude from its chassis.
