Apple obviously has big ambitions for the new iPhone 6 this year. According to the Wall Street Journal, the company has indeed asked the production chain for the delivery of the largest quantity of iPhone in its history: between 70 and 80 million units.
It is not yet known how this figure will be distributed between the models of 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches, but the least we can say is that the order is much larger than the 50 to 60 million handsets d ‘iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C from last year.
Despite such figures, the iPhone 5S has encountered serious shortages, and with the agreement signed by Apple in December with China Mobile (more than 790 million customers), the American giant will once again need a maximum of handsets.
Apple’s best sales in one quarter were 51 million units in the winter of 2013. With two large models, likely with sapphire crystal displays, this 80 million iPhone 6 order suggests that the Cupertino company intends to beat this record with its next smartphone.
