While nobody yet officially knows what will be the technical characteristics of the next iPhone 4S and / or iPhone 5, the site Anandtech has carried out tests on several trendy devices with regard to their graphics performance. What imagine what could be the graphics performance of the next Apple smartphone while taking into account that it is equipped with the A5 processor which already equips the iPad 2.
Unsurprisingly, it’s the iPad 2 that wins this graphics performance test. Equipped with the A5 processor and second with the SGX 543 graphics chip produced by Imagination Technologies, it is twice as good as the new smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S2 and its ARM Mali-400 graphics chip. An even more striking result against the iPhone 4 where the iPad 2 is four times better than the current generation of iPhone equipped with a PowerVR SGX 535 graphics chip. However, if the new generation of the iPhone should embark the A5 processor coupled with the same graphics chip of the iPad 2, the performance of the latter could have been lowered for reasons of compatibility with a “more reduced” space without relying on the management of the autonomy of the device which is all is different from the iPad 2.
We discuss it on the forum.
