Despite the launch of the iPhone 4 in 2010, the iPhone 3GS remains the second most popular smartphone in the United States, accounting for 52% of sales in the second quarter of 2011.
What keeps the success of the third generation iPhone is the sale price which was $ 99 (overseas) with a subscription. Some promotions at AT&T have even allowed the smartphone to see its price drop to the current price of $ 49 or, with other operators, it is offered free signing of a contract.
Despite its low capacity of 8GB proposed following the introduction of the iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS remains a smartphone of choice for the smallest budgets and also for those who do not really need the apps of the App Store. In addition, Apple intends to give it a little more breathing space since it will be possible to install iOS 5 on the iPhone 3GS.
The iPhone 4 may soon take the place of the iPhone 3GS which should be removed from the catalog with the introduction of the iPhone 5. The iPhone 4 will then, presumably, be offered with a capacity of 8GB and a price of range.
We discuss it on the forum.
