According to the figures of IDC, 32.2 million tablets sold in the second quarter of 2019, compared to 33.9 million units in 2018, a decrease of 5%. The tablet market is in decline; however, Apple exercises its grip on the latter with its iPads.
Californian at managed to sell 12.3 million iPads (all models combined) in the second quarter of 2019, compared to 11.6 million in the second quarter of 2018, which represents an increase of 6.1% from one year to the next . LApple’s market share thus increased from 34.1% (Q2 2018) to 38.1% (in Q2 2019), a gain of 4%. In second position, the market share occupied by Samsung is 15.2%, while deliveries fell 3.1% year on year with 4.9 million units sold.
Huawei saw its market share drop from 10.5% to 10.3%; with 3.3 million tablets sold. For its part, Amazon was able to record a strong annual growth of 46.3% with 2.4 million copies in Q2 2019 against 1.6 million in Q2 2018, and a market share which went from 4.8% to 7.4% . Lenovo is in fifth position with 1.9 million units sold in Q2 2019 compared to 2 million in Q2 2018; a decrease of 6.9% and a market share of 5.8%.
