While we are still waiting iOS 7.1 scheduled for next March and available for developers for a few weeks (read: 7.1 beta 4 is available), Apple just published iOS 7.0.5 for the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C only.
According to the changelog provided, iOS 7.0.5 fixes a network supply problem for certain models of iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c sold in China. Needless to say, it won’t really have an impact for you if you haven’t bought your iDevice in Asia…
However, other minor changes may have been added to this weighty firmware. 35.4 MB on an iPhone 5s. Indeed, it could be that Apple has corrected the problem of the white (or black) screen of death which appeared among some users of iOS 7 devices (read: Apple promises to correct the “White Screen of Death” iOS 7).
The iOS 7.0.5 firmware can be downloaded to all iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c directly from the native Settings application or via iTunes. If you have jailbroken your device, it is obviously strongly advised not to proceed with this update, Apple may have corrected some flaws used by evasion7 for the iOS 7 jailbreak.
