An eighth beta version of iOS 5 is expected this Friday. The Gold Master version of the OS should actually be sent to assemblers next week.
According to the site Boy Genius Report, an eighth beta version of iOS 5 will be made available for download this Friday while a Gold Master (pre-final) version of Apple's future operating system will be sent to iPhone assemblers around the 23rd September. Information which therefore confirms recent comments by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to the same source, Apple could load this Gold Master version of iOS 5 in the units currently produced in China for a few days and this, pending the final version, to save time. In this direction, BGR crot know that Apple will ask "acceptance of this Gold Master version of iOS 5 on a technical level" to partner operators and therefore to see if this version poses no problem for a consumer type use.
Note that the first people who get the iPhone 5, during its first days of availability, will always be able to charge the final version of iOS 5 by simply restoring their device. Indeed, the final version of iOS 5 should be made available for download at the same time as the start of marketing of the new device.
We discuss it on the forum.
