IOS 4 now allows you to enjoy a home screen on the iPhone in addition to the one already available when the device is locked. However, this feature is only accessible from the iPhone 3GS and too bad for iPhone 3G owners. So one of the latter, offended by the situation, did not fail to write an email to the C.E.O of Apple, Steve Jobs, in order to obtain explanations …
Here is his email:
Hey Steve! I installed iOS 4 on my iPhone 3G and I'm really looking forward to being able to set a home screen on it. Except, I guess it won't happen and I wish I knew why.
You see, I understand your reasoning regarding the restriction of multitasking because my iPhone heats up quite often when I launch applications, I would not dare imagine the reaction of my iPhone if it had to support multitasking.
Regarding the home screen, I don't see how it could use a lot of RAM from the device and have an impact on the battery. It doesn't seem necessary to me that this functionality is exclusively reserved for the iPhone 3GS and the new iPhone.
The animation of the icons in the horizontal bar does not work properly enough.
We discuss it on the forum.
