CarPlay could in the future support iPhone wallpapers when connected to an iPhone running iOS 14, according to information found in the iOS code and disclosed by the site 9to5Mac. In addition, more details will be added in the Plans application.
Information shared by the site says that Apple is currently testing a new feature in CarPlay that will allow the user to set wallpapers that are available by default in iOS 13; the wallpaper used on the iPhone will be the one that will appear in CarPlay, the possibility of setting a different wallpaper in CarPlay might be possible. The wallpapers would automatically switch to dark mode on the CarPlay interface depending on the time of day.
The site also indicates that the Apple Maps application will provide much more information for certain companies in iOS 14, such as the specific Genius Bar services that it offers a Apple Store, places that can accommodate couples, cinemas with IMAX hours and places with discounts for children.
The Maps app will be able to tell users, for example, if a specific store offers screen and battery repairs for the same day. In addition, Apple could provide some sort of verification badge for authorized Apple resellers.
