According to the latest figures shared by Apple, iOS 13 is now installed on 77% of the iPhone marketed in the past four years. In total, there are 1.5 billion active Apple devices worldwide.
17% of iPhone owners continue to use iOS 12, while only 6% are still on an older version of iOS.
If you take into account all the iPhones currently active in the world, 70% of them are running iOS 13. 23% are still running iOS 12, while 7% are still using an earlier version of iOS.
For iPads, 79% of those introduced in the past four years use iPadOS 13. 19% run iOS 12 and 2% use an earlier version of iOS.
If we take into account all iPads, including old models, 57% run on iPadOS 13, 27% run on iOS 12 and 16% are on an older version of iOS. This means that there are still many older iPads that are still in use. It is likely that users do not yet feel the need to replace their iPad … at least not with the same frequency as the iPhone.
As of last October, the data indicated that only 55% of all iOS devices launched in the past four years have adopted iOS 13. The installation of iOS 13 has therefore increased considerably in the past three months.
