Apple already produces iPhones in India. However, the manufacturer does not have a physical or online Apple Store to sell its products; therefore forced to sell its products on Indian territory through offline third-party resellers and e-commerce platforms such as Amazon India, Flipkart and Paytm Mall. Except that it will change very soon.
As announced by the site TechCrunch, Apple is working on two projects in India : one who is to build a first physical Apple Store on Indian land, which will be located in Mumbai, it will take a few more months and may not be ready this year; the other is to start selling its products online (initially planned to be launched in the first quarter of this year). Indians will be able to order their iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and other Apple products online, and this from the third quarter of the current year.
Apple would be spurred by good sales of the iPhone during Q4. According to the firm Canalys, Apple is said to have delivered nearly 925,000 iPhones to India in the fourth quarter of 2019, up more than 200% a year. What indeed becomes the most impressive quarter ever encountered by Apple in the country to date.
