In 2021, Apple would abandon the Lightning port to switch to full wireless

USB-C would also not be on the program.

If rumor has been voiced for years already the abandonment of Lightning for a USB-C port, the famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the source of most of the leaks with regard to Apple, has just thrown in the water . According to him, Apple would not only abandon the Lightning port as of 2021, but also pass an integral wireless formula. Understand by this that Lightning would not have a replacement.

In practice, everything from file transfer to smartphone reset will be done wirelessly.

As we know, Apple is pushing its consumers more and more towards a wireless formula – supposedly offering a better user experience. The manufacturer was the first to abandon the jack port. Since then, it has introduced wireless headphones, which are already a successful standard. The next logical step would be to remove the Lightning port.

In practice, this abandonment could however push some consumers towards alternatives under Android. If it is easily possible to do without the jack port, leaving the Lightning represents more traumatic proof – insofar as the slightest image transfer will require a passage by wireless – not always very practical when you have a PC in particular .
