According to the first official information distilled by Huawei, the Huawei P50 will be unveiled during the month of March 2021. In the meantime, leaks and noise from the corridors about these new flagships continue to flood the web. We owe the revelation of this Wednesday, January 13, 2021 to the leaker Yash Raj Chaudhary, known for his many leaks concerning the Chinese manufacturer.
Thus and according to its publication on Twitter, the Huawei P50 would be launched on both Android and HarmonyOS 2.0. This information is in line with a previous rumor, which stated that the P50 would be the brand’s first smartphone under HarmonyOS 2.0. More specifically, the international version would embed both operating systems, while the Chinese version would be satisfied with HarmonyOS 2.0.
The leaker does not however specify whether users will be able to choose their OS when purchasing, such as the amount of RAM or internal storage capacity or well if it will be possible to switch between the two OS on the fly on your smartphone. In addition, the insider also reveals some technical information about the P50 Pro and the P50.
According to his information, the P50 Pro would be equipped with a OLED display and a processor Kirin 9000. Logically, the Huawei P50 should be the last smartphones of the brand to embed a Kirin chip, Huawei can no longer work with its partner TSMC due to US trade sanctions.
Then the leaker evokes 8 GB of RAM, 128 or 256 GB internal memory and a quintuple photo sensor on the back side. At the beginning of January, our colleagues from SlashLeaks have just published photos of the device on which we could see these five lenses, still manufactured in collaboration with Leica.
As for the P50, it would have 8 or 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, accompanied by 128 or 256 GB UFS 3.0 storage space. On the processor side, Yash Raj Chaudhary evokes a Kirin 9000E, without great certainty this time. As usual, this information should be taken with a grain of salt, even though the insider’s predictions have consistently proven to be correct. We will have to wait for official statements from Huawei to be sure.
