After more than a month of a ban imposed by the United States on Huawei which had seen the Chinese giant be pissed off by almost all of the major American tech giants, President Donald Trump today announced that American companies would again be authorized to sell their products to Huawei.
Huawei allowed to do business with US companies
This takes into account the recent trade negotiations that took place between the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jingping. President Trump said he had come to an agreement with the Chinese President that the United States would not increase tariffs on Chinese products in return for China buying more agricultural products. the United States.
President Trump said, “We are limiting tariffs and we are going to buy agricultural products.” He then added that relations between the two countries were “Back on track”.
Along with this, he also mentioned that US companies would be allowed to sell products to Huawei again. “We ship and sell Huawei a huge amount of products that go into its products,” President Trump said. He further added “I agreed to allow them to continue selling this product so that the American companies could continue.”
However, this does not necessarily mean the end of problems for Huawei – when asked whether Huawei would be removed from the list of entities of the US Department of Commerce, President Trump said that the two countries had not yet discussed , and will be discussed at the very end of trade negotiations with China.
Nonetheless, this heralds good news for Huawei, which has seen American companies terminate all their commercial relations with the company, and certain non-US cease their activities with Huawei as well. At the very least, American companies will be able to sell products to Huawei again.
