How to run multiple copies of the same app on Android

Have you ever wanted to run multiple copies of an Android app at the same time? For example, you might want two versions of Facebook open simultaneously, one for your personal profile and one for your business profile.

Or you could have two versions of YouTube, allowing you to have two videos at the same time, which could be great if you want to keep tabs on multiple live streams at once.

Unfortunately, this is not a native Android feature. But there is a third-party app that does the trick: Parallel Space !

What is Parallel Space for Android?

Parallel Space is an application that allows you to run two copies of an application in two different windows at the same time.

On top of that, there is another standout feature that you will love: Incognito mode for apps. It allows you to hide the apps installed on your device so that other people cannot see them.

When you run two instances of the same app, the data for each app is sandboxed against the other. You will not encounter any data conflicts or forced disconnections.

How to run multiple copies of the same Android app

Download and install the app Parallel Space from the Android store. It’s free.

When you launch the app for the first time, you need to select the app you want to clone and tap on Add to parallel space.

To run a second version on the app, tap the icon. The app will load in the Parallel Space app.

In the example below, you can see that I am running two versions of YouTube at the same time. You can browse them using standard Android controls.
