Sometimes it is not possible to uninstall Avast through the standard route – use the “ADD or REMOVE programs” in the control panel. In this case, you can still use our uninstall utility. avastclear.
How to permanently and cleanly uninstall Avast from your computer
Warning: since the introduction of the Avast self-protection system (version 4.8 and more recent), it is no longer possible to use avastclear without having deactivated the Avast self-protection system. This can be done in the “Program settings”, section “Troubleshooting” – check the option “Disable Avast self-defense module”.
Download avastclear.exe on your desktop.
Disable the Avast tamper or restart Windows in Safe Mode.
Run the downloaded utility. If you have installed Avast in a folder other than the default one, find it by browsing your disk with the “…” button. (Note: Be careful! The contents of any folder you choose will be deleted!)
Click on “Uninstall”
Restart your computer.
And There you go ! Avast has been permanently uninstalled from your computer.
