This may seem obvious to some, but we all got the question one day: how to put his Android phone on the day? This depends of course on your builder and your operator, but in general the method is the same for everyone. It only takes a few taps to get the latest version of Android (provided that the manufacturer offers the update, of course).
The first Android version, called 1.0, was released in 2008 and has seen many updates to fix bugs and add new features to your phone or tablet. For the little story, part of the first Android versions, all the others have names of pastry shops starting with Cupcake, then others such as Donut, Gingerbread or Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo, Android Pie and probably also this t Android Q which is the latest version (which is currently only available in beta).
Find the latest system updates
There is a very simple way to check if your device is compatible with one of the most recent Android versions, just follow the steps below. Here is how to proceed under Pie (in our example we use a One Plus 6).
1. Go to the settings of your device
2. Click on system
3. Click on Update of the system
4. Then click Update if you see an update available
It may happen that the update option is placed directly in the "About" section, it depends on the models and versions. Be that as it may, your smartphone or tablet will tell you if an update is available. If your phone allows it, you will have the possibility to download it.
Not all devices will be able to benefit from all the most recent updates
It is important to specify that all devices will not necessarily be able to install the most recent updates, it will depend on the manufacturer, your model and sometimes your operator.
It is not impossible that your manufacturer offers an additional method to upgrade your system. This is the case for example of Huawei / Honor with the application HiCare.
It is also important to specify that you can manually update if you do not want to wait until the manufacturer offers it to download. Usually you have to install it from the manufacturer's site and launch it manually (via the smartphone interface). Rest assured, the information needed for installation is most often indicated on the manufacturer's page.
Good to know
Installing an update will not reset your phone: it means that you will keep your information, contacts or photos. Only the interface / system you will use will be different or better. Be careful, however, that the phone does not discharge during installation. The best is to connect it to avoid any risk.
