Sing your favorite music, you like it, right? Music, formerly iTunes, has (always) had the lyrics of certain music. We can’t say that all music benefits, but there is a lot. With the release of an update, like a karaoke, the lyrics scroll to the rhythm of the music on your iPhone or Mac, like Shazam. Indeed, in December 2017 Apple bought Shazam, even if the firm could not really acquire it until several months later. It is certainly thanks to Shazam that these new features are there.
Synchronized lyrics are not for all your devices. In addition to being connected to the internet, your devices must have these versions or later:
The lyrics are not present on all songs and these lyrics may not be synchronized. The lyrics are written in the original language and script. Let’s take an example. To read lyrics of Japanese music, you will have to switch to Japanese.
1. Karaoke on Mac with Music
1.1. Show lyrics
Let’s start by showing you where the lyrics are.
1.1.1. Open the app Music ;
1.1.2. Play music;
1.1.3. At the top right, click on the penultimate icon or go to Presentation > Show lyrics ^ ⌘U ;
This logo is important, remember it well, you will find it on all your Apple screen devices (except the Apple Watch).
Here you can see the synchronized lyrics.
However, if you want to see all the lyrics at once, it’s still possible.
1.1.4. Hover over the title currently playing and click on the 3 points;
Information : this also works on the mini-player.
1.1.5. Please select Read the information ;
1.1.6. Go to the Lyrics tab.
1.2. Have (only) lyrics at all times
Having the lyrics is good, but the Music window is cumbersome. Ideally, you should only display the lyrics, whether visible, over other windows and on all your desks. You can see the lyrics at any time. For that :
1.2.1. Display the mini-player by clicking on the illustration of the music;
1.2.2. Don’t forget to click on the lyrics icon;
1.2.3. Resize this mini-reader so that it takes the desired place, reduce the height to hide the illustration;
Then place this mini-player always on top of the other windows.
1.2.4. Still in the app Music, go to Music > Preferences ;
1.2.5. Direction the tab Advanced and tick Leave the mini-player in the foreground ;
You can test, open another application, such as Safari, the mini-player will remain visible. Finally, optimize its visibility.
1.2.6. Right click on the application Music in the dock ;
1.2.7. Go to Options > All offices.
So the application Music, including the mini-reader, will be present on all your desks. Of course, you don’t have to activate everything. The lyrics, the mini-player (in the background or not), the visibility on all desks can be activated and operate separately.
1.3. The mini-player, the lyrics in full screen
The mini-player gives you all the useful shortcuts for playing music: play, pause, next, previous, notation, lyrics, playlist, AirPlay options, music time.
To return to your usual Music screen, just close the mini-player, with the cross, the red circle. This does not close the app or cut the music.
On the contrary, if you want to have the lyrics on the whole screen, without anything bothering you, it’s possible too.
1.3.1. Display the mini-player;
1.3.2. Click on the button to enlarge the window, the green circle.
Here you are with the illustration on the left and the lyrics on the right. In the same way as on Apple TV. Karaoke with full lyrics thanks to Music on Mac.
2. iPhone karaoke
The iPhone also has synchronized lyrics. However, you will not be able to have the mini-player to display lyrics while you continue to use your iPhone.
2.1. Open the app Music ;
2.2. Choose a music and launch it;
2.3. Press the strip at the bottom;
2.4. Tap the lyrics icon.

2.6. Select Show all lyrics.
By clicking on a particular line of speech, the music will synchronize to go directly to this place, regardless of the device used.
