Oftentimes, people forget to turn on the visibility of their phone because of what they think has been a problem with Bluetooth. To activate visibility, go to Settings> Bluetooth> Make this device discoverable on Activ.
Toggle Bluetooth and airplane mode
Here's one of the simplest things you can do to get things moving. Go to Settings, turn off Bluetooth, wait 15-20 seconds, then turn it back on. You can do the same with Airplane mode. Very often, that's all you have to do and Bluetooth will return to normal.
Check Bluetooth on other devices
It is possible that an older device is running a previous version of Bluetooth that might have been lost. To make sure you don't have any connection problems with other phones, check if the version on another device is compatible with yours.
Restart your device
Whenever you have a problem with your phone, the solution to choose is a simple restart. A reboot can remove a bunch of problems, and it only takes a minute of your time. Before you move on to something complex, restart your phone. You can also restart another Bluetooth device to which you are trying to connect.
Pairing by car
Often times we pair our phones with our car, but if that doesn't work for you. In your car system, try the steps below:
- Select Settings> Connected devices> Bluetooth> Open Bluetooth> Search> Press the name of your phone..
- When you tap the name of your phone, if the system prompts you for the pin, enter it, then click Allow access to contacts and call history, and then pair it.
Forget the twin device
Another thing that works for all Android phones, including OnePlus 7, is to forget a paired device and then try to reconnect. Go to your phone's settings, search for Bluetooth, then search for the list of paired devices. Now search for a device in question, tap on it and choose the "Forget" option. You can restart your phone and, once turned on, turn on Bluetooth and try to pair the devices again.
Reset network settings
When you have problems with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or mobile data, resetting the network settings can clear up the mess. It will restore all connections to the factory settings. Here's how to do it on your OnePlus 7:
- Go to settings
- Tapping system
- Choose reset options
- Tap Reset Wi-Fi, mobile and Bluetooth
- Now tap on Reset Settings
- If you have set a PIN or password, you will need to enter it at this point.
- Then tap on Next.
- Finally, tap on Reset settings.
Reset your phone to factory settings
If nothing seems to work, you can opt for a factory data reset. Before proceeding, make sure you have a backup of your files and all your data. This is because it erases everything on your device. To perform a factory data reset, proceed as follows:
- Go to Settings> System> Reset options.
- Choose Clear all data
- Tap Reset
- If you have a PIN code on your phone password, you will be asked to enter it. Do it and tap Next.
- Now tap on Clear All.
Your device will restart and you will need to configure it from scratch.
