How to fix LG G8 Bluetooth issues

Bluetooth is a very important phone component that we use to connect our phones to various electronic devices that we use daily. This is why all phone manufacturers include this feature on their devices. That said, the LG G8 is equipped with one of the most powerful Bluetooth software. LG G8 phones work with Bluetooth 5.0, which is currently the fastest and most recent Bluetooth software available on the market. Deactivate energy saving mode

When the power saving mode is activated, most wireless connections on your phone are restricted. Bluetooth being a wireless connection, it is also affected when this occurs. The energy saving mode can be automatically activated when the percentage of your battery is less than 10%. So always make sure it is turned off. To avoid Bluetooth connection problems, make sure that the power saving mode is deactivated before trying the Bluetooth connection.

Enter the correct Bluetooth pass codes

As a security measure, Bluetooth is designed to request authentication codes for the first connections. If you connect your phone to a Bluetooth device for the first time, Bluetooth will generate an authentication code based on the device that requests a connection. To avoid any problem when creating a connection, always make sure to enter the correct code. This is the only way that Bluetooth security will allow your device to connect to another device.

Forget about Bluetooth devices

If you are having problems connecting your LG G8 to a Bluetooth device with which you have already been paired, you can try to forget the paired device. To do this, toggle the notification bar, click on the Bluetooth icon and access Bluetooth settings. From there, you will see a list of all the devices with which your phone is paired. Tap the one you're having connection problems with and click Forget.

Update Bluetooth driver

The other thing you can do to fix Bluetooth issues is to make sure you have the latest Bluetooth driver updates on the device with which you are trying to pair your phone. Having obsolete drivers will cause errors in your Bluetooth software, which may limit the connection of other devices.

Activate Bluetooth visibility

You may also experience problems connecting your LG G8 to other Bluetooth devices simply because your phone is not discoverable by other devices. This can happen when your Bluetooth visibility is off. To activate Bluetooth visibility, go to Settings > Bluetooth, turn on the Bluetooth switch, and then tap the Bluetooth settings to turn on the visibility of your device. Enabling this Bluetooth functionality will allow other devices to easily find and establish a connection.

Restart your device

If by chance your LG G8 phone fails to establish a Bluetooth connection with another device after trying all of the tips listed above, consider restarting. You can start by restarting your phone, then try to connect the device again. If your phone fails to connect after restarting, try restarting the device you are trying to connect to. If it is a Bluetooth speaker or a car radio, you can restart by turning the device off and then on again.

Reset network settings

This is another fairly simple thing that can solve Bluetooth problems. Regarding this option, keep in mind that it will reset all network settings, not just Bluetooth. It will also reset the Wi-Fi and mobile data settings. However, it can get things moving, so be sure to try it out. Here's what you need to do:

  • Navigate to settings
  • Now press System
  • Then press Restart and reset
  • Choose Network settings Reset
  • Press Reset settings and press again to confirm.
