Since iOS 7, it is possible to access the sound of a video through the control center of your iPhone or iPad. No need to stay locked on the Youtube app to listen to music, podcasts and other videos.

Put YouTube in the background on iOS
1 – Launch the Safari internet browser.
2 – Go to YouTube.com. If a pop-up appears to ask you to open the official application, ignore it.
3 – Find and launch the video you want to listen to.
4 – Press the button Home your iPad or iPhone to return home. The sound of your video then pauses. To turn it back on, bring up your control center bynot swipe up ( from the bottom of the screen, slide your finger up).
5- All you have to do is press play and you can continue listening to your video while using other applications.
If you want to surf the internet, you will need to use another browser than the one you use for your YouTube video.
If this technique does not work (from Apple updates or other), you will need to download a specific application. Good news, we found one free that works very well!
Put YouTube behind the scenes with an app: YTB player
YTC player is a free application that lets you watch YouTube videos while using other apps.
On the homepage of the application, you can search for a video by pressing the magnifying glass, at the top right of the screen. To access the menu, click on the three lines, top left of the screen.
Once you have found the video you want to listen to, just press play and exit the app. Subsequently, you can use the control center to switch from one video to another.
Simple to use, the application has some interesting features like the ability to create playlists or access its YouTube history.
